The Addison Choate Inn and Periwinkle Cottage provide the perfect retreat from the hectic pace of everyday life. We are located just a block and a half from the center of Rockport’s historic seaside village, which is a reminder of times gone by with its quaint shops, lovely beaches, art galleries, eclectic restaurants, and seaside band concerts

The Inn, completely updated with WI-FI, listed on the National Historic Register, has served as a Bed and Breakfast Inn for over 40 years. Each guest room offers either king, queen or twin beds. Amenities include private baths, plush towels and bath robes, fresh flowers (in season) and fine appointments. The entire inn has free wireless internet access. Each afternoon, guests may enjoy treats such as homemade cookies, lemon bread, a glass of lemonade or iced coffee, and in winter months, piping hot tea or warm apple cider.

Breakfast, with homemade granola, assorted cereals, fresh fruit, freshly baked scones, muffins, and a hot entree, such as a seasonal vegetable strata or blueberry French toast, is served on our awning shaded porch during the summer months, and in our lovely dining room during cooler months.

Our awning shaded porch, lined with tables and chairs overlooking the perennial garden, is the perfect place for a leisurely afternoon chat, a curl-up with a good book, a pre-dinner glass of wine, or just to sit and watch people stroll by. Inside, guests are invited to enjoy the cozy reading nooks, or a blazing fire in the dining and living rooms, sure to warm you on a winter evening. It is the little things at the Addison Choate Inn that make for a memorable stay.

Periwinkle Cottage

Periwinkle Cottage was once the carriage house for the inn. Today you can enjoy this lovely property - quiet, yet convenient to town, the beaches and the train. There are two units, Sea Lavender and Beach Pea. Both have private outdoor spaces, perfect to enjoy a morning cup of coffee and a good book, Wifi and lots of onsite parking. Cottage rates do not include breakfast, but quests may, with prior notice, partake of the inn’s buffet and return to the cottage to enjoy their meal ($10.00 per person).

Take a leisurely stroll to the village to enjoy beaches, art galleries, dining and shopping. The wonders of Gloucester and Cape Ann are all within easy reach by car or train. Just beyond, also available by car or train, are Salem and Boston.
