Hike, Bike, Paddle & Stroll

Gloucester is truly a year-round destination for outdoor enthusiasts and adventurers. Take a walk on a beach or out 1/2 mile into the middle of the harbor on Dog Bar Breakwater. It’s busier in the summer months, but off-season has its own benefits. With trails to hike, run, bike, or ski, water sports of all types, and all sorts of running, rowing, and bike races, it’s all here. No matter how you choose to spend your day, there are all kinds of outdoor activities right at your doorstep.  If you didn’t bring your own, there are bikes and kayaks to rent. Underwater exploration more your speed? Scuba divers flock to Gloucester’s shores for the glorious array of underwater life. Gorgeous walks along the shore or in wooded trails await you.
