Fresh local fish and fresh local brew - what could be better?
1 cup flour + extra for dusting12 oz bottle of Fisherman’s Brew lager
Salt & pepper
2 quarts vegetable oil
1- 1 1/2 lbs. fresh cod fillet
Heat oil to 350º in a large pot.
Mix 1 cup flour with salt & pepper to taste.
Gradually add beer until you get a thick batter.
Cut cod into 1” x 5” strips. Pat strips dry and dust with flour.
Dip fish, one piece at a time, into batter, and drain briefly. Slide dipped fish gently into oil. Cook 2-3 strips
at a time; do not crowd. Cook until golden brown. Drain on wire rack. Enjoy!
