Operating since 1998, North Shore Kayak Outdoor Center offers sea kayaking tours, sales and rentals, island hopping, and bike rentals in the beautiful seaside village of Rockport Massachusetts. Our headquarters and outfitters are conveniently located on the picturesque waterfront area of Bearskin Neck. Join us for a day tour on the water, or take a leisurely tour throughout the town and surrounding countryside with a bike from our fleet of rentals. All of our equipment is new this year and ready to take you on a great paddling or biking adventure.

An experience you'll never forget! 

 Join us for a tour of beautiful Rockport Harbor, a paddle to Thacher Island, or an overnight camping adventure. We recommend reservations, especially on weekends. 

Please plan to be at the shop 1/2 hour before the tour starts so that you can sign in, get geared up, and be ready to go on time. 

All tours include 20 minutes of instruction, guides, touring kayak, PFD (personal floatation device, paddle, spray skirt, and FUN!!!

Visit our stores in Rockport and Gloucester for kayaks as well as paddling equipment, bicycle rentals and TONS of sunglasses, sandals, and summer footwear for your outdoor adventures! New this year: Paddle Boat rentals!

Guided sea kayak tours leave Bearskin Neck daily from Memorial Day to mid-September on explorations of the beautiful Rockport coast and islands. Kayak rentals are available at both Gloucester locations. We carry a wide range of new and used touring, recreational, and whitewater kayaks in plastic, Airalite, fiberglass and Kevlar. as well as canoes. 

Brands include Necky, Perception, Current Designs, Old Town, Dagger, Boreal Designs, Hurricane and Impex. 

Interesting in trying kayaking for a season? We have a leasing program that lets you lease a kayak to try it out.  At the end of the lease, you can either return it or buy it - your choice!
