Celebrate #SlowArtDay at the Cape Ann Museum
April 2 @ 10:00 am
Celebrate #SlowArtDay at the Cape Ann Museum on Saturday, April 2 at 10 am and 3 pm!
Gloucester resident Annie Storr will lead close looking sessions using her original guided looking method, “Exercises for the Quiet Eye.” “EQE” is an interactive practice for anyone interested in taking the time to learn new techniques for viewing art. Each workshop is all about doing—exploring, seeing, reflecting, responding, sometimes sketching or writing.
This session focuses on “Cape Ann Modern,” a special exhibition drawn from CAM’s permanent collection and spotlighting the works of modernists who found inspiration here on Cape Ann during the mid-20th century.
Slow Art Day is a quiet international art movement. The first Saturday of April each year, museums around the world observe the day by organizing varied opportunities for visitors to do just that—deeply observe works of art they choose for themselves, without rushing. This program is free with Museum admission. Learn more and register at https://www.capeannmuseum.org/events/slow-art-day/.
