This weekend marks the summer hours of Maritime Gloucester. The hours for this weekend are as follows: 10 to 6 on Saturday May 25 10 to 4 on Sunday May 26 10 to 4 on Monday May 27 Memorial Day Their summer 2019 hours are 10 to 6 Mondays through Saturdays and 10 to 4 on Sundays.

The Sargent House Museum will open its doors for its 100th season at noon on Saturday, May 25. Originally built in 1782 for writer and women’s rights advocate Judith Sargent Murray, the Sargent House was incorporated into a museum in 1919 by patrons including Charles Sprague Sargent and Universalist minister Rev. Don’t let Preservation Month pass by without a stroll through Gloucester’s downtown historic district. Docent Bonnie Sontag provides an architectural and historical overview of building styles from the mid-18th to the mid-20th century. The tour starts at the Cape Ann Museum and will be held rain or shine. Cost is $10 for Museum members; $20 nonmembers (includes Museum admission). Space is limited and registration required. The 2019 Cape Ann Artisans Spring Tour will take place on June 1 and June 2. The studios are open 10:00 am - 5:00 pm. Cape Ann Artisans are part of a vibrant arts community, located along the scenic North Shore of Massachusetts. The Tour is self-guided of artists’ studios in Gloucester and Rockport. Both areas are also home to three important Massachusetts designated Cultural Districts – downtown Gloucester, downtown Rockport, and Rocky Neck.
